about me

Me.

And some stuff about me.

Because that's what you're supposed to do on websites.

Books!

I'm a huge fan of women's fiction, memoir and authors in general. If I could have a day to myself, I would read, write, and sleep. I don't care about TV but have recently been sucked into Sister Wives - I'd like a couple to do the laundry and make the meals but NOT sleep with my husband. I do watch Glee and Raising Hope, and American Idol, and that new X Factor has some appeal. Other than that, I gave up TV when I decided to write my first novel when my kids were little and I knew something had to give.

My children are very important to me. We recently made a huge move from Illinois to Scottsdale, AZ, and it's been a little over a year, but the kids are settling in. Summers are hard, but when the winter is here, we can all breathe a little easier. Blogging and writing are my outlet. I don't like to shop. Hate shoes. Think heels and makeup and lots of jewelry on women says a lot about the woman. Not sure what, but something.

Authors on my top shelf: Emily Giffin, Jen Lancaster, Julie Buxbaum, Allison Winn Scotch, Laura Dave, Sarah Pekkanen. Authors I have met in real life: Emily Giffin, Jennifer Weiner, Julie Buxbaum, Jen Lancaster, Jess Riley, Trish Ryan, Maureen Lipinski, Stephanie Klein, Eileen Cook, Stacey Ballis, Kristina Riggle, Karen Doornebos, Sloane Crosley, Elizabeth Berg. I would love to meet: Sarah Pekkanen, Rainbow Rowell, Laura Dave, AWS, Gwendolen Gross, Amy Hatvany, David Whitehouse, Chad Kultgen, Wally Lamb, Megan Abbott. I know I forgot a ton of authors I've met and a ton of authors I love, and a ton of authors I'd love to meet. I take medication for migraines and that makes me forget a lot of stuff, and get sidetracked a lot.

I miss living near Chicago because it was a great place to go out and meet incredible authors. So that's a little bit about myself.

I'm sure this section will change often. Maybe as soon as tomorrow. Because I'm already bored with it.
